Subterranean Termites: A Costly Threat to Your Home

Subterranean termites are some of the most destructive pests homeowners face. These silent destroyers thrive underground, feeding on cellulose-rich materials like wood, cardboard, and even drywall. They can cause significant structural damage before you even realize they’re there.

We recently encountered an issue where a contractor left cardboard debris in the crawl space of a home after completing repairs. Unfortunately, this cardboard, a prime source of cellulose, attracted subterranean termites. The infestation was severe enough that a full treatment had to be performed to protect the home.

Remember: Contractors and debris don’t mix. When having work done on your home, always ensure contractors clean up properly and don’t leave materials like cardboard or wood scraps behind in subareas. These seemingly harmless leftovers can quickly become a magnet for termites.

Thankfully, Anderson Pest Control Termite & Wood Repair came to the rescue! We not only removed the infested debris but also performed the necessary treatments to eliminate the termites and protect the structure.

If you’re dealing with termites or want to prevent an infestation, give us a call at (949) 338-9691. Protect your home before it’s too late!
